Background
I completed my Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Honours at Monash University, Clayton. After one year of working as a Research Assistant in the university’s Department of Pharmacology, I decided to undertake a PhD there. I am currently into my second year of enrolment.
Research
Free radicals are found to be elevated in platelets isolated from subjects with diseases such as hypertension and atherosclerosis. However, the reason for this increase in free radicals is yet to be determined. Therefore my research topic focuses on defining the functions and roles of free radicals in mouse platelets both in normal and disease models.
Personal interests
I enjoy personal fitness and love training at the gym with my mates. I’m into sports especially footy (Go the Pies!) and cricket. I am also a motoring enthusiast and wish I didn’t dedicate so much of my time looking at car sites! I also enjoy working with others and meeting new people.
