General representatives may contribute to the MPA in any of the following ways:-
attending the monthly MPAEC meetings, contributing to decision making and voting on issues of concern

conducting some background research to support an MPA submission

talking to postgraduates in their department/course/faculty to find out what the current issues are

contributing to one of the many subcommittees that are created for a specific event/issue
-
volunteering at an MPA orientation, social event or seminar
-
attending the local MPA coffee club sessions to meet the postgraduate community
Background
My name is Brenden Hiskins and I am proud to be a MPA General Representative for 2009/2010. I am currently undertaking a Master of Asian Studies at the Clayton Campus, and last June I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Victoria University, Footscray Park Campus with my majors being in Asian Studies and International Cultural Studies.
Personal interests
My interests are in current affairs, as well as getting to know new people. I look forward to working with you over the next twelve months.
