Odds & ends

"Winter Warmers " - the winning entries!

Last issue we asked for your "creative" tips for staying toasty in wintery Melbourne. Here, in no particular order, are our 3 winning entries!

Winner 1 - who suggests a natural method of keeping warm

The "petwarmer"

Strategically place a pet such as a cat or small dog on your feet or legs and stay still until it falls asleep. It's an environmentally-friendly and portable electric blanket. For extra warmth, cover your feet/legs and animal with a blanket, leaving a small space open for the animal to breathe.

Marketa Silhar, Master of Management

Winner 2 - who suggests a reflective and somewhat philisophical method of keeping warm

"Keep your head cool and feet warm" - this tip can be applied directly as stated and also indirectly in understanding the hidden message which is "keep your head cool" (never loose your temper, always be happy, don't worry) "and feet warm" (do physical exercise, look after your health ).

Ashir Ahmed, PhD Candidate, Business & Economics

Winner 3 - who suggests a method that would appeal to budding pyromaniacs

Drum fire

It's a photo of our drum fire and bbq extravaganza that we have in the backyard every year with a group of friends.

Warm. Fun. Beer-fueled. Fantastic!
