Lounges
There are two postgraduate lounges.
Room A1.38, Building A. It has four computers, comfortable chairs and couches, round meeting tables, an internal phone, noticeboard and a sink. A great place to meet socially or for small group work.
Building H, ground floor, near Princes Highway entrance. The lounge has tables and chairs for quiet study, wireless access, a kitchen sink and a drinks vending machine.
Computer labs
Three postgraduate computer labs are located in Building H: rooms H2.23, H2.26, H2.27. Each lab has 25 computers, printers and wireless access.
A postgraduate computer lab is also located in room T2.04, Building T. The lab has 18 computers, a scanner and a printer.
A postgraduate computer lab is also located in room A1.39, Building A. The lab has computers, a scanner, printer and worktables with wireless access.
Note: Labs H2.26, H2.27, A1.39 & T2.04 are designated "Quiet Study" labs. H2.23 is a designated “discussion lab”.
Syndicate rooms
Eleven syndicate rooms are located in the basement and on level 2, Building H. Postgraduates can book the rooms for small group work sessions by emailing Monash University Venues.
Bookings need to comply with the booking process (see rules in the right column).
Lockers
Lockers for postgraduate use are located in the basement Buiding H and rooms A1.39 (Building A) and T2.04, (Building T). They are issued to postgraduates on a first-come/first-served basis.
To apply for a locker download and complete the locker application form and email it to Christiane Momberg. Once she acknoweldges your application pop into the MPA's Caulfield office with your student ID and (refundable) security deposit (click here for office hours).
Postgraduate carrels
The Caulfield Library offers a large number of PCs for student use on levels 2 and 3. Desks with powerpoints are available for laptop users on levels 3 and 4. Level 4 is a designated a quiet study area.
Twelve individual study rooms are available for postgraduate use on level 4. Booking required through the Library Loans Desk. Wireless access is available on all levels.

Swipe card access to postgraduate spaces
Some postgraduate-specific facilities require swipe card access. To register for access you must be currently enrolled as a postgraduate at Monash University. Activation takes up to 48 hours. If problems persist, please contact Security in Building B (the window near the shuttle bus stop).
You need to register each year for swipe access.
Syndicate room bookings - the rules
No bookings required for INDIVIDUAL quiet study when the room is free.
Bookings need to be made for group work (two or more students) teaching,
meetings and events.
To book:
For bookings email Monash University Venues (MUV).
Postgrads MUST provide their name, student number, student email
address and state what course they are studying.
Bookings need to be made at least 48 hours (2 working days = Monday to
Friday) before use, bookings may be made up to one week in advance.
Groups may book one syndicate room for up to four hours on any day, a maximum of 12 hours per week between the hours of 9am and midnight.
Students (a group of two or more) may book additional four hour sessions
between midnight and 9am.
MUV will send an email confirming the booking.
Use of rooms
The syndicate rooms are for postgraduates only.
Students are required to have with them a printed copy of the confirmation
email when using the room.
Please note that it is a safety requirement that students not use the rooms
after 10pm and before 8am unless accompanied by at least one other
student.
Bags/laptops are NOT to be left unattended at any time in syndicate rooms.
Please take your rubbish with you when you leave.
