Graduate Researchers in Print (GRiP)
GRiP is a program designed to encourage and mobilise research postgraduates to write and publish in their fields. Members work in groups of 6 – 10 postgraduates, assisted by a facilitator. Through the year, the facilitator also runs sessions on various aspects of publishing, including:
identifying appropriate journals;
preparing submissions;
responding to reviewers' reports
writing book proposals and writing for the non-academic media.
Colloquy
Colloquy is the response of Monash University postgraduates to the need for a forum for postgraduate debate. The aim of the journal is to provide an opportunity for the dissemination of new work in literary and cultural studies and related interdisciplinary fields.
Colloquy publishes articles and reviews by current postgraduates, recent doctoral graduates and post-doctoral fellows working in the above-mentioned areas. All work is refereed by academics working in appropriate fields for assessment to ensure the originality and currency of the journal and to maintain a high standard of critical writing.
Colloquy 's intention is to contribute to postgraduate culture as well as to inform the literary community of the current interests of postgraduate students. For further information please visit the website.
School of Historical Studies - Eras
Eras is an on-line journal edited and produced by postgraduate students from the School of Historical Studies and is a fully refereed journal, with DEST status.
Papers published by Eras are accepted from the following disciplines: History, Archaeology and Ancient History, Religion and Theology and Jewish Civilisation. Submissions from other disciplines with significant historical content will also be considered (e.g. Politics, Literature, Economics, Anthropology).
Eras is intended as an international forum for current or recently completed Masters and PhD students to publish original research, comment and reviews - see the website for more information.
Education
Monash Education Research Community (MERC)
Monash Education Research Community (MERC) is an active network of research students and staff. Established in 1992, MERC supports the idea that researchers develop best when their intellectual, academic and social needs are addressed through ongoing engagement in a supportive community of learners. On the basis of this philosophy, MERC represents the interests of research students in the faculty, organises seminars, conferences and social events.
