Online support for postgraduates studying via distance

Live Library support

The library has a help service using online chat so you can get immediate help for many library queries from anywhere you have access to the web. The service hours are usually from 12 noon to 9pm Monday to Friday

During May the chat service will be open for extended hours so that they can test a different online chat software product. This will be available from 10am-12 noon Monday to Friday. So for 4 weeks starting Monday May 4th, if you need help from 10am and 9pm Monday to Friday you will be able log on to the Library Online chat help service either using the trial software or the regular chat service.

Research postgraduates

The Monash Research Graduate School has a number of resources available for research students through their exPERT series.

exPERT presentations & podcasts.

exPERT DVDs - DVDs are available for loan from the Libraries. To find the expert DVDs at your closest library please enter “Monash Research Graduate School” in the “author” section of the search engine in the library catalogue.

The Learning Support unit also offers online guide for higher degree by research postgraduates

The Arts faculty’s research seminar series, ‘Tricks of the Trade’, is also available online.

Postgrad to Postgrad - the perfect place to procrasinate

A postgraduate has set up a Facebook group for Monash postgrads - sign up and get networking!

Graduate Junction - research postgraduates

Graduate Junction is an international networking site designed to help research postgrads make contact with others who share similar research interests, regardless of which department, institution or country they work in. It has been developed by two postgraduate students at the University of Durham.

Postgraduate on-campus facilities

As a distance education postgraduate you may occasionally be required to come onto one of the main campuses. Postgraduate-specific space exists on most of the campuses however you may need to register. Please see facilities section of the individual campus you will be visiting.
