Postgraduate facilities

A postgraduate lounge has been established in Building 7N, Gippsland campus, for meeting and seminar purposes.

Representation

Monash Postgraduate Association (MPA)

The Monash Postgraduate Association (MPA) represents and serves the interests and welfare of postgraduates enrolled on all Victorian campuses by providing activities and services to cater to their specific needs.

Bharat is the current MPA student rep for Gippsland (see right-hand column).

The MPA provides a range of services including advice and advocacy, seminars and workshops, social events and representation.  Enrolled postgraduates are automatically entitled to use the resources and services of the MPA.

MPA holds a forum at Gippsland each semester to give postgraduates at Gippsland the opportunity to discuss their student experience and highlight any issues they may have.

Gippsland Association of Postgraduate Students (GAPS)

GAPS was established to:

• provide a forum for Gippsland enrolled postgraduate students;

• address the needs of and provide support for the academic well-being of Gippsland enrolled postgraduate students and;

• foster recreational activities.

GAPS has an Executive Committee of students who guide the Association and determine the information services, events and seminars for postgraduate students. Off-campus postgraduates face particular challenges and GAPS has some dedicated services to allow students to access the Association regardless of where they are located.

Applied sciences and engineering

The Strzelecki SciEng Students (SSS) Association is an affiliate of the Monash University Gippsland Student Union (MUGSU) and represents postgraduate students at the School of Applied Sciences and Engineering (SASE), and aims to be an avenue for peer support and a voice for its members.
