Peninsula Postgrads, did you know we have two wonderful MPA staff actively hosting events on your campus and providing our advocacy service to support your postgrad journey?
Their names are Ying Xu and Leanne Vosper, and if you see them around campus, you should definitely say hi.
Ying Xu, MPA Advocate
As an advocate, my role is to support and advise students with any issues they may be facing during their time studying at Monash University. This may include placement issues, misconduct allegations, financial hardship, or anything else. Our service is confidential and independent from the University, meaning we always put the student’s interests first.
In my own time, I love hanging out and enjoying social games with friends, taking fun classes and learning new languages and skills. Right now, I am slowly picking up Japanese as a new language, but still have a very long way to go!
Though I am based at Caulfield, I make monthly visits to the Peninsula campus and am available for consultations and drop-ins during those hours. You can find me in U1.07 (please approach MONSU reception in Building U) every second Wednesday of the month between 10:00am and 1:00pm.
I may also be available to meet at other times; please contact me if you wish to arrange an in-person meeting.
Leanne Vosper, MPA Events Coordinator
I recently joined the MPA team as Events Coordinator, looking after the smaller and off-campus locations. My main focus is to find out what postgraduates are interested in, and then make it happen. If you would like to participate in free yoga sessions, self-defence, art classes, free lunches, excursions etc, then I am open to all ideas – as long as the interest and numbers are there!
When I’m not running around after my two little daughters and attending nursery rhyme classes, you can quite often find me having brunch in a lovely café, shopping up a storm, relaxing at the beach or going on a road trip or exotic holiday. I love going on adventures, meeting new people and making the most of what life has to offer.
I visit the Peninsula campus regularly to run our events – so if you have any great ideas you would like to discuss, or just want to touch base, please get in touch to arrange a time to meet!
If you have any other ideas or suggestions about activities, events or improvements on Peninsula Campus, you can also reach out to your MPA Peninsula Campus Representative, Allison.
